1. Scope and merchant responsibility
This Merchant Acceptable Use Policy applies to Merchants that use StoresOmni to create websites or storefronts, publish content, offer products or services, communicate with customers, or use commerce functionality.
The Merchant is the seller of record for its offerings and is responsible for the legality, accuracy, safety, quality, pricing, availability, fulfillment, customer service, returns, refunds, warranties, disclosures, taxes, licences, and other obligations associated with those offerings. StoresOmni provides software, hosting, account infrastructure, commerce tools, and integrations; it does not become the seller merely by providing those services.
Merchants must comply with applicable law, the StoresOmni Terms of Service, this Policy, their own published customer policies, and the requirements of payment, tax, shipping, or other providers they connect to StoresOmni. Permission to use StoresOmni does not mean that an offering is lawful, approved by a regulator, or eligible for processing by a payment provider.
2. Prohibited offerings and content
Merchants may not use StoresOmni to offer, promote, distribute, or facilitate goods, services, content, or activity that is unlawful or prohibited by StoresOmni or an applicable provider.
Prohibited activity includes, without limitation, the sale or facilitation of stolen property; counterfeit goods; goods or content that unlawfully infringe intellectual-property rights; illegal drugs or unlawfully supplied controlled substances or prescription medicines; unlawful weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, or dangerous materials; unlawful gambling; unauthorized or fraudulent financial services; money laundering; sanctions evasion; trafficking or exploitation; malicious software; unauthorized system access; or other illegal commerce.
StoresOmni prohibits content or services involving child sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual material, terrorism, unlawful threats or violence, unlawful hateful conduct, harassment, exploitation, or unlawful discrimination. StoresOmni may also restrict or prohibit other content, products, or services that it reasonably determines create legal, safety, fraud, or platform-integrity risks.
A Merchant must not use the platform to facilitate activity that would itself be prohibited even where the Merchant does not directly sell the underlying product or service.
3. Restricted and regulated offerings
Some otherwise lawful offerings may be restricted because they are age-restricted, highly regulated, subject to licensing or registration requirements, or considered higher risk by StoresOmni or a connected provider.
Merchants must accurately disclose material regulated or restricted categories during onboarding and whenever their business materially changes. StoresOmni may request supporting information, licences, registrations, age-control procedures, product information, or other evidence reasonably necessary to evaluate continued platform or commerce eligibility.
A restricted offering may require prior approval and may be unavailable through some payment or platform configurations. StoresOmni may decline or limit a category where applicable law, provider requirements, fraud risk, customer risk, or operational risk cannot reasonably be supported.
A StoresOmni review does not replace a Merchant's responsibility to obtain all licences, permissions, approvals, and provider authorizations required for its business.
4. Honest commerce and customer treatment
Merchants must deal with customers honestly and fairly.
Product and service descriptions, prices, currencies, material characteristics, availability, fulfillment expectations, shipping or pickup terms, recurring charges, refund and return terms, and other material conditions must be accurate and reasonably clear before purchase.
Merchants must not impersonate another business, misrepresent their identity, conceal material information, advertise goods they do not reasonably expect to supply, use bait-and-switch practices, create misleading scarcity or pricing claims, manipulate customer reviews or feedback, fabricate endorsements, or make deceptive claims about products, services, delivery, refunds, or customer rights.
Merchants must provide reasonable customer support for their transactions and respond appropriately to legitimate questions, cancellation requests, return requests, complaints, refund obligations, and disputes. Merchants may not retaliate against a customer merely for making a good-faith complaint, requesting a lawful remedy, or cooperating with StoresOmni or a payment provider.
5. Payments and transaction integrity
StoresOmni commerce functionality may be used only for genuine transactions relating to legitimate Merchant offerings.
Merchants must not create fictitious transactions, process transactions solely to transfer money, disguise the true nature of a payment, use transactions as unauthorized cash advances, conduct card or account testing, manipulate transaction amounts to evade controls, intentionally mischaracterize goods or services, interfere with legitimate disputes or refunds, or use payment functionality for fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or other prohibited financial activity.
A Merchant may use only payment accounts, credentials, and provider connections it is authorized to use. Merchants must cooperate with reasonable requests from StoresOmni or payment providers concerning transaction verification, disputes, refunds, fraud, compliance, or account eligibility.
Payment-provider approval and StoresOmni platform access are separate. A provider may impose additional restrictions or discontinue payment functionality independently of StoresOmni.
6. Platform, data, intellectual property, and security
Merchants must not interfere with StoresOmni, other merchants, customers, providers, or connected systems.
Prohibited conduct includes attempting unauthorized access; bypassing authentication, permissions, usage limits, or platform restrictions; introducing malware or harmful code; abusing APIs or automated systems; scraping or extracting information without authorization; disrupting platform availability; impersonating another account; sharing privileged access improperly; or using another Merchant's account to evade restrictions.
Merchants may process personal information through StoresOmni only when they have an appropriate lawful basis and authority to do so. They must not upload, collect, disclose, sell, or misuse personal information unlawfully or request unnecessary sensitive information through storefronts, chat, forms, uploads, or other platform features.
Merchants must have sufficient rights to use the names, trademarks, images, product information, software, media, and other content they publish or provide through StoresOmni.
7. Quality monitoring, complaints, and enforcement
StoresOmni may monitor Merchant compliance and customer experience using information reasonably available through the platform. Depending on the applicable functionality, this may include Merchant and store history, customer satisfaction feedback, orders, fulfillment performance, cancellations, returns, refunds, payment disputes, support activity, relevant Merchant-customer communications, compliance reviews, quality cases, provider notices, and administrative audit records.
Authorized StoresOmni personnel may review relevant transaction or support information when reasonably necessary to investigate a complaint, resolve a dispute, evaluate Merchant quality, protect customers or the platform, satisfy provider requirements, prevent fraud or abuse, or comply with legal obligations. Access is subject to applicable role, security, privacy, and audit controls.
Where StoresOmni identifies a potential violation, we may request information or corrective action, place a matter under review, restrict particular features, restrict commerce functionality, remove unlawful or prohibited content, suspend or terminate platform access, decline continued Merchant eligibility, or take other proportionate action. Serious fraud, security threats, unlawful activity, provider requirements, or urgent customer-protection concerns may require immediate action.
Where appropriate, StoresOmni may give the Merchant notice and an opportunity to respond. Nothing in this Policy requires StoresOmni to delay action where immediate restriction is reasonably necessary.
Restriction or termination of StoresOmni access does not erase the Merchant's existing obligations to customers. Merchants remain responsible for appropriate fulfillment, communication, returns, refunds, disputes, and other outstanding obligations.
8. Reporting and policy changes
Suspected violations of this Policy may be reported to legal@storesomni.com. Merchants needing assistance with their account or an active customer issue may contact support@storesomni.com.
This Policy forms part of the Merchant's agreement with StoresOmni. We may update it as our Services, risk controls, provider requirements, or applicable laws change. Material changes may require renewed acceptance before continued or future commerce eligibility.
StoresOmni records the applicable policy version and acceptance information necessary to establish which terms were accepted. Technical integrity records used for that purpose are maintained internally and are not part of the public-facing policy text.
